Sod Installation

Professional Sod Installation for a Healthy, Clean, Finished Lawn

At Dixon Landscape & Irrigation, we install sod the right way from the ground up. A great lawn starts with proper preparation, quality soil, fresh sod, clean edges, and the correct watering process after installation.

Site prep

We begin by preparing the area for new sod. This includes removing unwanted grass, debris, rocks, and smoothing the ground so the new sod has the best possible surface to root into.

Cleanup

Once the sod is installed, we clean up the edges around beds, sidewalks, driveways, patios, and hardscapes for a crisp, finished look.

Topsoil

When needed, we add quality topsoil to improve the growing base. This helps create better root contact, smoother grading, and a healthier start for the new lawn.

Watering

After installation, watering is critical. We make sure the sod receives water right away and provide instructions for proper watering during the establishment period.

Quality Turf

We install fresh, high-quality sod using tight seams and proper layout patterns. Each piece is placed carefully to reduce gaps and help the lawn establish evenly.

HEAVY Rolling

We roll all new sod with a heavy 1,000 lb roller to improve soil contact, remove air pockets, and help the sod root properly. The added weight also helps flatten small humps and uneven seams that lighter rollers often leave behind, creating a smoother, more professional-looking lawn.
